To Get the Night Started ...
Rick Currie Rick is a veteran of the Canadian comedy scene and was involved in our very first Comedy for a Cause two years ago, and will be our MC this year. He has performed across Canada, as well as Europe and the United States. Not only has he been featured on national television and radio shows such as Comedy Now, Club 54, Madly Off In All Directions and The Debaters, he has also written a lot of the material we hear through the media. Lately, Rick can be heard as remote reporter on 93.9 BOB FM The Morning After.
Wendi ReedWendi Reed has been making people sit up and listen since her first time on stage. Her unpredictable material and quirky comedy style keeps audiences laughing and she always leaves them wanting more. Wendi has performed in comedy clubs across Canada including Toronto, London, Montreal, Vancouver and the Ottawa Valley. She also made instant fans in Dublin, Ireland after her performance to a sold out crowd of 500 at Murphy's Laughter Lounge. Wendi is a talented comedienne with a fresh perspective.
Jeff Tanguay Jeff Tanguay has been making his living on stage since he was a teenager. He started his career as the singer/guitarist for the 80's band 'The Town Cryers'. After a few hit songs and appearances on Muchmusic, his inherently funny stage demeanor led him to try comedy sometime in the early 90's, and audiences have been howling at his casual, laid back approach ever since. Charming crowds with his infectious smile and rarely straying south of 'clean', Jeff launches into hilarious tales of his marriage and raising his 2 boys. He also talks about the 'distinct' nature of living in Gatineau, driving in the city, and just for fun, does some bizarre things with a children's toy. As seen on the Comedy Network and in live appearances across Canada, Jeff Tanguay is a really fun guy to watch.
Pierre Brault Pierre Brault has over fifty years of performing experience, which is amazing for a guy in his early forties. He's worked clubs and theatres from Vancouver to St. Johns, from Dublin to Melbourne and beyond, his eye catches things others miss and his tongue utters what others think using words no one can pronounce. Whether walking to Tim Horton's or swimming a beach in Vietnam, Pierre's international perspective brings it all home.
